Grants For Single Moms

It’s never easy being a single mom and the statistics say that 85% of single parent households are headed by women and of those about 40% are living at or below the poverty line. So, finding ways for women to support themselves and their family is a priority. The article “Grants for Single Moms” compiles several services that can help moms figure out the best way to get on their feet and provide for their families. One organization called 2-1-1 is a good place to start for a woman to find out what options are available in her area because just going to school isn’t always the best and most helpful decision to make. Government programs that offer temporary assistance for families, government job corps programs and Women in Apprenticeship and Non-Traditional Occupations (WANTO) are all places that can offer single mothers places to start to help pull their family above the poverty line. Seeking out local housing agencies can help a family find more affordable housing and local churches and non profit organizations can be a good place for single mothers to find the help that they need.
